Constructivism resembles to a Russian movement that had begun and formed the Soviet Union with the Russian avant-garde. It is not a so called art movement as it is rather a trend of the arts that is closely linked to the industry and manufacturing, architecture and the applied arts. The inspiring conceptual art behind Constructivism as it spread to many other countries that are outside the boarders of Russia, which merge into major artistic centres such as Paris, London and even as far as the United States. In one specific centre of the movement lays outside of Russia that was at the Bauhaus art and design school based in Germany.


Many of the influential artists of the Constructivist movement had come from every range of countries. There were the Russian artists that took Constructivism to the west such as Naum Gabo. El Richter, Dutch Theo van Doesburg and Hungarian Laszlo Moholy – Nagy.
